Unesco World Heritage Site, Paestum boasts three of the best preserved Greek temples in the world. The itinerary will be completely dedicated to the discovery of the entire archaeological area, accompanied by an expert archaeologist, who will narrate about the ancient civilizations who lived there .
Miraculously survived in excellent condition, as to be regarded as unique examples of Magna Graecia, are the three Doric temples built in the two urban sanctuarial areas of Paestum, respectively dedicated to Hera and Athena. The so-called " Temple of Neptune " dedicated to Hera, built in sandstone around 530 BC, is the largest of the temples of Paestum. The building shows the mature forms of the dorinian classical order, similar in this to the Temple of Zeus in Olympia. Paestum is surrounded by almost completely preserved walls, with a polygonal perimeter that extends for approximately 4.75 kilometers, following the trend of travertine bench on which the city stands.
