San Gennaro e i Suoi tesori tra fede e tradizione

The tour will begin with a pleasant stroll through the historic center of Naples, through the picturesque streets of the historic center of Naples, we will head to Via San Biagio dei Librai (the Booksellers’) with a panoramic view on Via San Gregorio Armeno ( the street famous throughout the world for the nativity craft shops ) and you will reach Via Duomo where you will find the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro.
The museum area is of more than seven hundred square meters and exhibits his works (which previously had never been offered to the vision of the public ) in the spaces below the Chapel of the Treasury, for a series of collections of art including jewelry, statues, busts, fine fabrics and paintings of great value .
Among the most interesting articles a miter (bishop\'s hat) of 1713 by the goldsmith Matteo Treglia, in which are embedded numerous precious stones (diamonds, rubies and emeralds) .
Unique in its kind is the valuable collection of silver (about 70 pieces ) which, embracing a period of time ranging from 1305 to the contemporary age looks intact and is, almost entirely, by the masters of the Neapolitan school.
The museum tour includes a visit to the three sacristy of the Chapel of the Treasury, recently restructured and containing valuable paintings by Luca Giordano, Massimo Stanzione, James Farelli and Aniello Falcone, never open to the public before .
